About Us

Bay Treks is a San Francisco company formed by a couple guys who really love spending time outdoors. Years ago we organized trips at Summer Camp and now with Bay Treks we are trying to bring that same sense of fun and discovery to people of all ages. We think the Bay Area has some of the best natural scenery around and we look forward to sharing it with you.

The Guides

Brendan Bolles

Until recently, exploring Mt. Tam has been an escape for Brendan (sometimes known as "Mr. B"), who otherwise was mostly trapped in front of a computer either writing software or creating computer graphics for Hollywood movies.

While traveling in New Zealand with an old camp friend he had an epiphany and Bay Treks is the result.

His two favorite spots on Mt. Tam are both visited on the Tam Summit Hike.

Andy Cheskaty

Andy (his friends call him "The Beast") has always known that working outdoors was for him. He studied Recreation Management at Chico State University and worked for many years at Walton's Grizzly Lodge Summer Camp, where he first struck up a friendship with Brendan.

He is captivated by the natural world, lately becoming especially enamored with fungi and lichen. Keenly observant, he is usually the first to spot a hidden mushroom or wayward newt.
